What happened
On December 5, TaxLeopard entered voluntary liquidation. If you were using it to manage your BAS - whether you drove for Uber, delivered for DoorDash, or picked up shifts on Airtasker - it's gone. Airtax, which TaxLeopard acquired in 2023, is also offline.
The good news: the ATO holds all your past lodgement records independently. Your history is safe, accessible through myGov. The less good news: Q3 (January to March 2026) is still due April 28, and it doesn't care that your tax app shut down.
What you actually need to do
You've got two options.
Lodge it yourself through myTax. It's free, it works, and if your situation is dead simple - one platform, no vehicle deductions, no expenses - it's fine. Log into myGov, find your pre-filled data, fill in the gaps, submit.
The catch: gig workers rarely have simple situations. Multiple platforms, GST on income, vehicle expenses, equipment deductions - myTax puts all of that on you to figure out. It's doable. It's just annoying.
Use a registered BAS agent. They lodge on your behalf, which also gets you an extended deadline past April 28. You hand over your numbers, they handle the rest. That's what Frly does.
